First rule of fight club....

We dont talk about York shakespeare fight club! Of course i have never really been one to play by the rules so i will speak. Tonight is the first fight club session for the play, should be a lot of fun seeing as we are learning to stage fight correctly. We are doing a full on riot on stage including using improvised weapons so we obviously need to learn how to do it all safely.
Looking forward to it all and cant wait to get stuck in, its a laugh a minute with these guys be it pulling faces at each other while trying to concentrate on a scene to knocking back the pints in the minster inn after a hard days rehearsing on a sunday! Will post some pics later as am gonna take camera with me this eve.

Not long to go

Well i figured it would be best if i made a post seeing as i havent done so in quite a while! To say i had decided not to do anymore acting this year was a bad idea. I cant seem to stay away from it at all. To start with i did a centeenary service for william h auden at bootham school. Its a hundered years since his birth. On the same night that i was doing that i got a call from Andy Love a director i did my first play with. It seems that they had someone drop out and asked if i would fill the shoes! I did um and ah for a bit before deciding that yeah... i should go for it. And so i got the part of rosie in 'Humble Boy' by charlotte jones. Of which i should have some pics up soon. In that same week i got a job waitressing as the assembly rooms in york. I lasted all of a month however as the wages were crap and it was rather stressful. I much prefer the waitressing job i have now at rustique in castlegate york. Much more laid back, we have a laugh and the money is excellent. I have now also been cast in the York Shakespeare Projects summer play henry 6th. its something that hasnt been done by an amature company before, as in we are doing all three parts, condensed down into two performances! I have approx 7 parts throughout the play ranging from a soldier and messenger to hume and the weaver. Lots to learn but lots of fun to be had. Especially as i am now the social organiser! We are gonna go paintballing so we can learn combat a bit better as some of us (read the guys) arent very good at pretending to be in combat situations where as the girls are top notch at it!
